The Site for Whom? And Why?

At one time, one of the core objectives and principles which required the establishment of the Arab Institute for Research and Strategic Studies 3 years ago was to make of it an effective voice for addressing the other. To confront the unfair assault which was savagely launched since the 11th of September attacks against the Arab Nation and its values and existence. The Institute's address was directed in a scientific and composed method to the West firstly, and to the elite of this nation secondly. Ignoring everything about us, and for us, the West must be addressed, because we played a role in this ignorance. We didn’t speak to the world in its own language and through the method it comprehends. Moreover, we didn't clear up the essence of this nation, its human values, objectives and rightful ambitions to contribute in setting up the civilization which we founded its essentials.
Today, we see this attack developing to take a direct mode lowering our religious beliefs and values, thus we have to change the method of reply. We have to move from the dialogue with West and the intellectual persuasion method to practical work which strongly affects Western societies.
The West considers us as the source of its basic resources either for energy or raw materials. We are also regarded as an open market for its products wherein our raw materials are used after ripped off from our countries at the lowest prices. These products are then brought back after being manufactured hence drawing off, by their prices, the last drop of our blood. 
How can the answer be? It should be of the same kind. We must be aware of our energy and resources, to handle them with challenge that doesn't do wrong to our rights. We should know how to deal with the West's products, and use them as a weapon in the face of any one who encroaches upon us. May be the success of this reply, as a defensive means, stems from being used by Arab counties through their public and private vocational associations. It's noteworthy that it was used without being influenced by any side that can hinder the purpose of boycott. 

Why this approach? Some might ask whether the boycott will work or not in the era of globalization and the information revolution which is limitless. And what can we achieve after boycotting foreign goods, especially those of the countries which insult our beliefs?
Nations' experiences refer that boycott was used in more than one occasion. It was profitable as the boycott enabled people to earn the results of embargo upon the country which committed an insulting action against them. This action either contradicts with law, ethical or international morals. The offence committed by one of the Danish newspapers by publishing ridiculous pictures of the Master of Mankind, Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), is considered one of the acts that are not subject to international or conventional law. These laws are firmly established in a secular milieu that doesn't take into consideration the others' feelings or beliefs in its literary work or even in the deeds of its advocates. 

The first trial of boycott experienced by the Arab began in 1922, when the Palestinian people boycotted the Israeli commodities, in a response to the Jews' boycott to the Palestinian goods. After that, the boycott continued till the near past. The Arab boycott, in 1945, caused losses of hundreds of billions of dollars to the Israeli economy. If these Arab measures and statistics are insufficient that some doubt or proclaim that they are exaggerated, it is worth mentioning that the boycott was not exclusively an Arab weapon.  Most of foreign publics used this weapon from "a tea party in Boston" through which the American people have drawn up the most beautiful pages of their history. The American people refused the subordination of its economy to the English imperialist. The Japanese also refused to cooperate with the American occupation, since the end of World War II. The Japanese people adhered to its economy by boycotting foreign commodities, as in case of American goods till it could build a strong economy, as it is now, and impose its products on the American market. The greater politician Ghandi induced his people to make their clothes by themselves away from asking the help of the British imperialist. This drew up the most brilliant pages of history of independence led by an entire nation disregarding their trends, origins or religions.

These trials and others formed letters of light in the history of nations in the shape that made America gains its independence from Britain. It made the Japanese economy becomes independent from its American counterpart. It also pushed India, the weak state, to gain its independence from Britain, after 5 centuries of occupation and subjugation. The most important is that they gained the respect of their occupiers.

Without the commitment of these peoples and their unity and faith in the ability of its natives and Private Sector in creating the necessary revolution, all these trials are supposed to come to failure. The Americans have found an alternative to the English tea in their farms. The Japanese found in the companies of the Private Sector what made them the masters of universe in their technologies and the Hindus took their clothes from their natives' products.

Do not these experiences represent to us, the Arab and Islamic worlds, a compass, by which we seek information about our way, by depending on the products of our companies? These firms gained experiences that they began to compete the advanced western. Through this site, we aspire to draw attention of millions of Muslims to meet their needs by subsidizing Arab industries and the Private Sector companies, investing their money in their countries, pushing the social development in different fields and by helping to gain independence, as possible, from the foreign influences that are incompatible with their homes' interests. This will, in turn, relieve the intense internal problems, which we suffer from, such as unemployment and poverty.

The interests of this step, which we hope Arabs and Muslims, in general, to use, are several. This is to achieve the possible interests of the entire homeland, in addition to gain the respect of the international parties going too far in their extremism and extravagance towards our beliefs and cultures. When these parties see the unity and coherence of our row, they will think thousand times, before adopting any steps, behaviors or statements offending our beliefs and dogmas.

This website… was released by the Arab Institute for Research and Strategic Studies (AIRSS), especially at that time, in a completion to sites, which the institute released and still releasing, such as the site of Arab integration. This site calls to open the Arab market in front of Arab products and acquaint the consumer, who imports commodities, with the kinds and advantages of Arab goods. The site also targets to ease the obstacles put to hinder the mutual Arab trade. By this way, the industrial and agricultural development and then the social development spread over our homeland. 
          
This website is the first step on this way… it is directed to consumers, whether individuals, companies or associations. It calls them to boycott the enemies' products. It identifies the foreign products, their trade marks and the producing companies for us to boycott. It also presents the Arabic made substitutes, their trade marks and the producing companies to help ourselves and help them marketing their products through our website.

This website addresses merchants and companies to use and support our website in order to convey the names, kinds and trade marks of their products to millions of Arabs… our aim is to introduce merchandise to consumers and encourage them to buy them through our website…

This website addresses blue-collars as well as white-collars, students and housewives, old and young and all people. It is time to work… to affect the economy of those who dared on us and denied our favor. He/she who is eager to serve his/her country, nation and religion should make this site his/hers. Together to pinpoint our enemies' products and call for boycott… together to show our products and call for support…and this is the least we can do…
